Eve, obligatory question: why dolls ? You are graduated puppeteer at famous art college, why not puppets?

E: Puppet and doll may be the same if it is animated. For me, moving doll magic, because she comes to life in people's hands.

When have you started with dolls?

E: About three years ago, but for me they are still "doll-puppets" and  I am making puppets for 18 years. But as a child I sewed sock dolls :-).

Who or what inspires you? What motivates you?

E : I often carve a head and wonder who it is ...

You're one of the great Czech doll makers - who picks up your doll does not want to return it back. The dolls made ​​of linden wood breathes life, after all, wood is alive ... or what about this material? What is lime wood for you?

E : I mainly like the way it worked on the structure, chisels traces, assorted finishes and each piece is an original.

Wooden dolls are not as vulnerable to breakage, they can survive for several generations ... Is it needed somehow specially to treat wood to withstand time?

E : If stored indoors, only protect against dust or thumb, but it can also get a patina of touch people and I just love it.

When the doll despite of all care gets the damage. What then?

E: Wood glue helps, it's not such a tragedy.

Is a doll a good investment? What brings to me as interested person?

E: Well, I guess what I'm saying that you can get a being in your home which you can revive yourselves.

What is your relationship to the dolls? I mean generally ...

E: I do not distinguish much, figurines , dolls, puppets, they just must me emotionally touch.

And what "your" dolls which you carve, paint, giving them the soul – is it just a job for you ? Do you relate with them?

E: This is the same, to be satisfied with them, they must invoke something in me. They are my children.

You're right, your dolls are beings which is impossible to dislike ... I can see it in our gallery. There comes an interested person or collector, takes a doll in the hands and she moves with a head, cuddles in her arms and it is - love forever.
